Lipstick In The City: THE GLAZED FRENZY!

Lipstick In The City: THE GLAZED FRENZY!

I’m not one for glossy lips, Lipsticks and especially lip glosses. In fact I own a limited number of lip-glosses and I hardly use them (because they easily wear out et al). I pride myself in matte, dry lipsticks (they tend to appear stronger and last longer than their glossed counterparts). But these nouveau innovations of lip gloss ranges from different brands are so attractive I just had to succumb to this one: LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint.

Here is the official statement of the product: ‘Glazed Lip Paints give the intensely pigmented appearance of a lipstick, with the ease and glossy finish of a lip gloss. Glazed collection includes 18 of the most sought-after, trendsetting colors this season while providing long-lasting, hyper glossy, ultra-rich color to lips. Extreme bright colors cool and nourish lips with vitamin E and peppermint oil. ‘ The first 6 and description: Coy: Light purple Pin-Up: Blood Red Bombshell: Fairy pink Babydoll: Baby pink Blushing: Deep rosa Hot Mess: Tangerine Featured image                                                        (With and without flashlight) For the price (1,500 naira each and 8,500 naira for a set of 6 from www.thedfstore.com),  it’s not a bad deal and so worth it. Of course it doesn’t last all day (it’s a lip gloss, duh!) but it has a pretty decent wear period and it fades away nicely (pleasant wear-off stain), leaves your lips soft and supple, almost equivalent to the just-been-thoroughly-kissed feel; thanks to the Vitamin E and Peppermint Oil.  *hehehehe* You can apply the Glaze with a lip-brush (or a Precision brush), and also apply directly from the tip itself if you’re in a hurry. The slanted tip makes direct application easier, helping you reach the contours of the lips. You can easily build up the color intensity as you apply. If you want it subtle, you don’t apply too much et vice versa. My favorites will be PIN-UP and COY, pouting never looked so pretty!! HOW-TO-WEAR I personally love pairing these lip-paints with a cool, subtle, no-much-drama eye makeup; this allows the spotlight focus on the lips (yum!…) Here is a model wearing a lip-paint in Coy (que linda!) Featured image VERDICT It’s a good bargain. Long wear period. Fades out nicely.  Bright colors, perfect to wear alone. Plus, you can also mix these lip paints to get your own custom color. Don’t forget that it also nourishes and softens your lips. ADVISE Go get some of these paints (‘Pin-Up’ is a must have and if you’re comfortable, ‘Coy’) and… Hellur perfect pout! C’est vraiment beau! Thank me later! PS: If there’s any beauty topic you’d like me to cover, you can drop them in the comment box. Merci beaucoup! x0x0
